4.30.11

Despite the fact that it looks like Wyatt has had enough of me and the camera, we were actually playing peek-a-boo. :) We'd just gotten back from Josh's grandparents for a birthday dinner (where I got another cake with my name on it!!), and Wyatt and his cousin Connor had been playing peek-a-boo during supper. This was actually a really good sign - Wyatt and Connor are polar opposites, and Wyatt often avoids Connor because he is far more rambunctious and loud than Wyatt. It was a nice change to see them playing together - later on, they were both sitting on Josh's grandma's lap, reading a book together!
As a birthday gift to me, Josh and I went to Winnipeg to do some shopping. Unfortunately, at 36 weeks pregnant I don't have a lot of energy or desire for shopping. We went to The Body Shop and I picked up $80 worth of product for $10, thanks to a Groupon deal and some other in store specials (including getting $10 off because it was my birthday). We also hit up Chapters where I picked up a couple books and a placemat for Wyatt. Anyone who has seen our table where Wyatt sits probably realizes this is about 18 months too late - he has done some serious um...distressing to the table top! Thankfully it is an old hand me down table, but still...who knew those toddler forks could do so much damage?
And at 11:35pm, Josh is out the door on his 3rd (or is it 4th now?) fire call in 24 hours. Considering he has to be at the firehall at 8am tomorrow morning to help set up for the MS Walk, he's going to be one tired papa tomorrow.

  1. Glad you guys could hit up the city for some nice birthday shopping, even if you ended up getting pretty tuckered out. I loved The Body Shop's birthday bonus too, so awesome!
