I didn't take any pictures today. Today was a bit of a gong show. I was up until 4:30 with some sort of stomach bug. Both kids were driving me bonkers, so we went for a walk. It was so nice. Quiet. Well, kind of. Wyatt walked almost the entire way (an hour long walk) and talked the entire time. He also waved at everyone. And almost everyone waved back, which made him SO happy. I kind of don't want him to grow up now. Because what happens when someone you don't know waves at you now? I don't know about you, but I get confused and annoyed. "Who was that? Do I know them? Why were they waving? Was that a wave or a finger?" No happiness here. Anyway, both kids kept their hands to themselves the entire time, which was such a novelty since Wyatt's been getting more aggressive with Paige again, and Paige is learning to push ALLLLLLL of Wyatt's buttons ("Let me grab your hair! Glasses! Shirt! Pants! Can I smack you? Scratch you? Try to bite your feet?"). For a moment there, I almost began to mourn the end of my mat leave in May, but then we got back inside and the usual chaos began again.
One thing I cannot wait for when I go back to work? Going to the bathroom alone. No one bringing me a Nintendo DS and asking me to turn it on. No one trying to climb my leg while I am ON THE TOILET. No one playing with the toilet paper or making a beeline for the toilet brush. I may even dream about this tonight.
But, I'll still miss these ridiculously awesome kids like crazy. Even the one who just threw up on my pillow.
