5.28.11

What a long day! Paige was up from about 1:30am - 4am this morning, just really unsettled. She fussed for a bottle at 1:30, and that woke up Wyatt, so Josh went into his room to put him back to bed, and fell asleep in there. Because Josh wasn't in our bed, I put Paige down beside me, thinking we'd sleep better that way. I was wrong! She squirmed and snuffled and snorkled the whole time. I snoozed on and off during the day when she slept, but never really felt rested. Josh had his level 1 practical exam today, so his parents took Wyatt for the day. It was pretty quiet (and lonely!) without the little stinker. He's still acting out quite a bit, but I suppose that's to be expected for a while. :(
Josh did not pass his exam. In fact, out of the 14 guys in his class, only 3 did (and they all had the same instructor that let them redo a part of the exam that they did wrong). From the feedback of the other guys, it seems like the instructors were pretty tough this time around, but Josh gets another chance 2 weeks from now in Brandon. He's pretty pissed off this evening, even though there's nothing he could have done differently (his instructor thought his angle of spray was more than 30 degrees, Josh didn't).
I better go rescue him - Paige has been up for the past hour and 45 minutes, so he took her in an attempt to get her to sleep - instead he's the one snoring. :)

  1. Ugh, hard/bad/"interpretive" instructors make things very difficult. I remember my first driver's test...my instructor thought the Taurus was purple. Ahem. And it went downhill from there.
Anyway, I'm sure the second time around, he'll nail it. And I hope little Paige gets the hang of sleeping soon :)

  2. Yeah, and from the sounds of it, Josh wasn't the only one who seriously disagreed with the instructors decision. I guess they don't think it's worth it to fight it, and will just try again.

  3. Yeah, it's hard to argue with an instructor like that...they always end up saying you're only arguing because you're a poor loser (or something to that effect). Which isn't TRUE, but they make you feel stupid, and that's just worse.
Next time will be better, I hope.
